Professional Bio
BILL KATRIS has
extensive litigation, arbitration and counseling experience
involving a wide range of complex commercial contract disputes and
business torts, including matters arising from breach of contract,
real estate transactions, employment issues, unfair competition,
trade secret misappropriation, fraud, corporate mismanagement and
business defamation issues. Bill also represents companies across
the country in all aspects of their business relationships,
consumer relationships and relationships with employees. Bill has
represented a broad range of clients, such as internet start-ups,
construction companies, financial services companies, governmental
entities, manufacturing companies, nationwide distributorships,
professional service providers, insurance companies and large
equity investors. Bill's clients range from small business owners
to large publicly traded companies.
Bill completed Chicago-Kent College of Law's certificate programs
in Environmental and Energy Law as well as International and
Comparative Law. Bill also studied International Trade
Relations at King's College of London, England and completed
Loyola University's International Business Studies Program in Rome,
Italy.

Representative Matters
- Lead counsel in the representation of a minority shareholder in his dispute with the majority shareholder of an Illinois based multi-million dollar medical product and services operation. A settlement was successfully negotiated for the buy-out of the client's share of ownership interests and restrictive covenants.
- Co-lead counsel in the representation of a large insurance services corporation against a former corporate officer and director who went to an industry competitor and improperly took client's proprietary information and over 30 of its employees with him. A multi-million dollar settlement was achieved in favor of client after a successful motion practice relative to the competitor's electronic discovery.
- Lead counsel for a general contractor defending claims against a municipality and a developer for alleged construction defects in a multi-million dollar condominium conversion.
