Professional Bio

HAL J. WOOD is a partner in the commercial litigation group, and he represents clients in commercial and business litigation. Hal has represented clients in matters ranging from complex contractual disputes; shareholder, partnership and ownership disputes; real estate fraud; commercial lease disputes; employment issues; restrictive covenants; trade secret misappropriation; violations of the Illinois Sale Representative Act; and other commercial disputes. Hal represents clients in all types of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, professional services and real estate. 
 
Hal has successfully tried cases as the lead trial attorney in many jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations. Hal has appeared in state and federal courts, as well as in front of private arbitration panels, in Illinois and across the country.
 
Hal has been a featured speaker on Recent Developments in Contract Law at a seminar on Negotiating and Drafting Major Business Agreements. He has also represented clients in the mortgage brokerage industry and has considerable experience in issues relating to the anti-kickback and other provisions of the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and the Illinois Residential Mortgage License Act.
