Professional Bio

KRISTIN L. DUNLAP concentrates her practice in commercial real estate and finance. Matters include acquisitions, dispositions and financing of various property types including shopping centers, condominium properties, office buildings, multifamily apartment buildings, hotels, brownfield properties and raw land for development, as well as counseling on tax incentive and savings programs available to real estate entrepreneurs in Illinois. Kristin also advises individuals and organizations otherwise involved in real activities such as property management, asset management, leasing, construction and brokerage. In addition, Kristin works with various local and securitized lenders and regularly drafts and negotiates loan documents on behalf of both lenders and borrowers.
 
Kristin has significant experience in preparing Federal Property Reports and City of Chicago Property Reports and has been involved in the structuring of several mix-used residential and commercial developments as well as the successful acquisition, financing and conversion to condominium of numerous high-rise and mid-rise residential properties. 
 
Kristin is a co-author of a Chapter in the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education's Commercial Real Estate Handbook entitled "Construction Financing From the Borrower's Perspective" as well as a co-author of the article "Restructuring a Loan with a Third-Party Guarantor" which appeared in the July/August, 2010 edition of the Journal of Taxation and Regulation of Financial Institutions.
