LAWRENCE J. FELLER advises and provides strategic planning for entrepreneurs, closely-held businesses and capital placement firms generally headquartered in the Chicagoland area. Larry's clients are generally linked by their entrepreneurial spirit, growth aspirations, and practical and value-oriented approach to business matters.

Larry provides a "counselor-style" approach to delivering legal services. Larry's clients inherently trust his advice on business matters and expect Larry to play a central role in advising on key business and legal decisions. Larry is regularly involved in client matters from the concept stage through implementation, and prides himself on professionally prepared and well thought through legal documentation. Larry's clients include manufacturers, distributors, service organizations, restaurants, insurance companies and entrepreneurs in most every facet of business.

A significant portion of Larry's practice is dedicated to transactional work and tax planning for individuals and companies engaged in real estate activities. Matters include acquisitions and dispositions of various property types including shopping centers, office buildings, multifamily apartment buildings, hotels and raw land for development, as well as counseling on tax incentive and savings programs available to real estate entrepreneurs in Illinois. Larry also advises individuals and organizations otherwise involved in real activities such as property management, asset management, leasing, construction and brokerage.

Larry's practice also involves implementing capital raises for various projects including project specific capital raises and blind and semi-blind funds. Larry also advises on legal matters incidental to capital raising activities and start-up businesses including federal and state securities laws, choice of entity, choice of jurisdiction (Delaware versus other states) and asset protection strategies.

Larry regularly drafts and implements operating agreements and is the author of various articles on this subject matter including the article "Custom Designing LLCs for Real Estate Provides Maximum Protection and Flexibility," Larry has worked with various local and securitized lenders and regularly drafts and negotiates loan documents, on behalf of both lenders and borrowers.

Larry is involved in a number of professional and trade associations including The Chicago Bar Association, The Illinois State Bar Association, and The American Bar Association, and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Larry is also an active contributor to various charities including The Jewish United Fund, The Anti-Defamation League, Meals-On-Wheels and The Boys and Girls Club of Chicago.

Larry is native to the Chicago suburban area and currently lives in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago.
